11/03/2025

This morning, inside the Alessi Hall of Palazzo Marino, the press conference for Stramilano 2025 was held. The most anticipated running event of the year has reached its 52nd edition and on Sunday, March 23, it will once again fill the streets of Milan.

Presenting Stramilano 2025 were the Undersecretary for Sport and Youth of the Lombardy Region, Federica Picchi, and the Councillor for Sport, Tourism, and Youth Policies of the Municipality of Milan, Martina Riva. Also present were the Organizing Committee, official sponsors, the President of the CONI Committee of the Lombardy Region, Marco Riva, General Graziani of the Italian Army, General Solazzo of the Carabinieri, and General Baione of the Air Force.

On Sunday, March 23, the city race and the Half Marathon will start respectively from Piazza Duomo and Piazza Castello. The two historic starting locations are ready to welcome thousands of athletes, enthusiasts, and families who have been invading the city of Milan for a day of celebration and sport since 1972. Last year, on the occasion of the 51st edition of Stramilano, 62,000 people filled the streets of Milan, coloring them red.
The race, as per tradition, will be divided into three major events: Stramilano 10 Km, Stramilanina 5 Km, and Stramilano Half Marathon.

The Stramilano 2025 will be inaugurated by the Half Marathon, which will start from Piazza Castello at 8:30 AM and, after a 21.097 km route, will end at the foot of the Sforza Castle. The event is dedicated to professional athletes and passionate runners who have shown great interest in the Milanese half marathon. Last year, in fact, 8,000 runners participated, demonstrating that the Stramilano Half Marathon is one of the most loved city races.

At 9:30 AM, participants in the Stramilano 10 Km will start from Piazza Duomo, a non-competitive race that sees runners of all ages and levels running through the most characteristic streets of the city such as Corso Venezia, Piazza V Giornate, Piazza XXIV Maggio, and many others. At 10:00 AM, also from Piazza Duomo, the Stramilanina will start, where the protagonists will be the little runners who, together with their companions, will cross the historic center of Milan for 5 Km.
For both non-competitive races, the finish line will be at the Arco della Pace, where all participants will receive their medal and there will also be a refreshment area to enjoy a well-deserved rest and fun.

During the press conference, the godmother of the event was also presented, who this year will be Chiara Gensini, an actress loved for her talent and her performances in cinema and television. With her energy, she will accompany the runners along the route.
